Welcome to One Culture: Poetry and Science

A poet once said, “The whole universe is in a glass of wine.” We will probably never know in what sense he meant that, for poets do not write to be understood.

In this resource, each Page (see links at right) presents a poem, or occasionally another kind of literary or artistic work, followed by discussion, with emphasis on connections to science. I some cases, the work is a part of a broader essay among Reflections on Science and the Humanities.
